Sound familiar?

You've been all over Sri Lanka. But what are you actually taking home?

You've been all over Sri Lanka. But what are you actually taking home?

ou’ve surfed Arugambay. You’ve eaten the best curry of your life. You’ve seen temples that took your breath away. Sri Lanka has been everything you hoped for.

Then you stand in a tourist market holding a keychain that says “Sri Lanka” on it made in a factory, sold to a thousand travelers last week wondering if this is really how you want to remember all of it.

Mass-produced. Forgettable. Gone in a drawer by January.

You deserve something that actually means something.

"What if the thing you took home from Sri Lanka was something you made with your own hands?"

That’s what we do, every day, in Arugambay.

personal workshop in the heart of Arugambay

Welcome to SHA Silver Jewellery

A small, personal workshop in the heart of Arugambay  where travelers from around the world create something meaningful with their own hands. Visitors from countries such as Israel, Germany, Australia, France, Japan, the UK, the Netherlands, and many other parts of the world join us to experience authentic craftsmanship during their Sri Lanka journey.

Our master craftsman, N.M. Harees, guides you through every single step. You cut the silver. You shape it. You set the gemstone. You take it home.

"You don't take home a souvenir. You take home proof that you made something beautiful in Sri Lanka, with your hands, on this trip."

No skills needed. No artistic talent required. Just show up we handle everything else.

Your journey

From First Touch to
Finished Ring

Exactly what happens from the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave wearing your creation.

01

Choose Your Stone & Style

Browse Ceylon gems — sapphires, moonstones, garnets and more — and pick your ring or pendant design. Your craftsman helps you decide what suits you.

02

Cut, Solder &
Shape

Using a torch and real silversmith tools, you’ll cut silver sheet and begin shaping your piece by hand. Nervous at first? Everyone is. Surprised at how good it feels? Also everyone.

03

Hammer, File &
Set

Tap the band to your size, file the edges smooth, and set your chosen gemstone into the bezel. Every mark is yours. Every tap tells the story of this trip.

04

Polish & Wear It Home

Bring your ring to a brilliant shine, photograph it with the team, and leave wearing something no shop in the world could ever sell you because you made it.

No experience is needed. The workshop is designed for complete beginners. You will be guided step-by-step by a master craftsman from start to finish.
How long does the jewellery making workshop take?
The Silver Basics session takes around 2 hours, while the Gemstone Masterclass takes around 3 hours depending on your design and pace.
